What a $20 Lube & Tune Actually Includes (No Gimmicks)
If you've read anything about garage door companies, you've probably seen the warnings: the "$29 tune-up special" that turns into a $900 'rebuild package' pitch in your driveway. So let's be completely transparent about what our $20 Lube & Tune is, what it isn't, and why we offer it.
What our techs actually do
Every Lube & Tune visit includes:
- Lubricate all moving parts — springs, hinges, rollers, and bearing plates with high-temp silicone lubricant rated for Arizona garages
- Tighten hardware — hinges, track brackets, and opener rail bolts loosen over thousands of cycles; we snug everything back to spec
- Balance check — we disconnect the opener and test whether the door floats level at half-open, the #1 indicator of spring health
- Safety sensor test — alignment and reversal test so the door stops if a kid or pet is under it
- Force setting check — the opener's close force gets verified against safety norms
- Visual 25-point inspection — cables, drums, end bearings, weather seal, panel condition, opener sprocket, and more
You get a straight verbal rundown at the end. If something's wearing out, we tell you, show you, and give you a written price — and then it's entirely your call.
Why only $20?
Simple: it's how we earn a chance to be your garage door company. A tune-up visit costs us real money to run, but it introduces us to homeowners who will someday need a spring, opener, or full door — and who will remember the company that didn't upsell them.
Our promise on every visit: no invented problems, no pressure, published pricing. That's the Align Promise [blocked], and it applies to the $20 visit the same as a $2,000 door install.
When to get one
Twice a year is ideal in our climate — once before summer, once after monsoon season. Align Shield members [blocked] get their tune-ups scheduled automatically (one or two per year depending on tier), which is the easiest way to never think about it again.
